Preparing for Civilian Life

Updated: Oct 27, 2023

On November 5th, 2022, we gathered for another conference dedicated to recently honorably discharged military personnel. This event was specifically for "Course 30," focused on "Citizenship Preparation."

During the conference, we had the privilege of meeting Shimon Philo, a former lieutenant colonel in the Air Force who has transitioned into a career as a financial planner. Shimon generously volunteered his time to educate us on how to navigate our finances as we transition into civilian life. We are incredibly grateful for his insights.

Following Shimon, we had the opportunity to hear from R., a reservist turned successful FinTech company founder and CEO. R. shared valuable insights on how to effectively enter the job market.

Next on the agenda was A, who provided us with essential guidance on various aspects of civilian life post-military service. These are the things that often go unspoken, except perhaps during the release party celebrations.

We also had the pleasure of listening to Dean, who always knew he would be an entrepreneur. Dean shed light on what it means to be an entrepreneur, who it suits (and who it may not), the challenges and complexities of this path, and the incredible feeling of success when it finally arrives.

Our conference concluded with a presentation by E., who also happened to be the former commander of many attendees in the room. E. shared invaluable advice on proper financial management and provided us with numerous tips to help us achieve our personal goals.

We would like to extend special thanks to G. for organizing this fantastic evening. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Additionally, we want to express our gratitude to Y. for hosting us at the offices of his company, Hitex, in Tel Aviv.

Lastly, a big thank you to everyone who attended.

We look forward to seeing you at our next event!
